Ephesians 5:11
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness,
but rather expose them.
Anyway, upon reading this verse this morning, I received a new picture for it. In light of the previous blog, "F is for Fruit", the picture that came to me was a seed in the ground, having being sown, but upon discovering it's the wrong seed, or a bad see, the sower digs the dirt away from the seed, exposing it to the light, which stops it from sprouting, from taking root and growing. God literally knows what is and isn't 'bad' seed. Ya gotta ask His Spirit about that!!!
In other words, this Scripture is not about pointing out another's sin; it's not about judgement and condemnation. But it is about you checking the seeds you sow. It is about not allowing anger and hatred and revenge and bitterness and all else that is 'fruitless deeds of darkness', from taking root in your heart and in the heart of those you sow into. ie your child; your partner; those in your care; those you mentor; friends; family... and so on.
God is the creator of all that is good. He gives you seed to plant. Make sure you seek His knowledge as to what is and isn't good seed. The bitter words someone is speaking over another, for example, is not good seed. Have nothing to do with it.
